The title was inspired by one of E-3 Editor-in-Chief Peter Faerbinger’s recent editorials in which he happily remarked that SAP is refocusing on the core of its success. SAP follows the new-but-actually-old motto of offering a solution for integrated business processes.
Of course, not even Mr. Faerbinger wants to revert to the primeval times of R/1, R/2, or R/3, but there is a lot of truth in what he is saying: Technology has taken tremendous leaps in recent years, the performance is breathtaking, and user frontends open up design opportunities for efficient usability.
