Mission for Cleft Children in East Africa
Kern AG has been committed to Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe for some time now. We are always happy to receive news and, above all, to see that the commitment, together with all other donors of course, pays off. We would therefore like to take this opportunity to report on what Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe was involved in at the beginning of the year.
In March, for example, two operations took place in East Africa for children born with cleft malformations. Thanks to Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe, a Rwandan surgeon, an anesthesiologist from Uganda and two German doctors who have been volunteering for Deutsche Cleft Kinderhilfe for many years, 26 cleft children were operated on in Rwanda and thus given a new lease on life.

At the same time, a new cleft center was inaugurated in Somalia. In the future, cleft children from the entire Somali-speaking region can be treated here.
