Scooter Downhill

On July 16, we had a great trip to Freiburg's famous local mountain: the Schauinsland. After a relaxing ride up the Schauinslandbahn cable car with a great view over the Rhine Valley, the Kaiserstuhl and the Vosges mountains, things got action-packed, as we had planned to ride down the mountain on scooters. We started with an introduction from the scooter guide, who explained what to look out for and how the scooters work.

Equipped with helmets, elbow pads, and knee pads, we set off on an 8-kilometer, 750-meter descent into the valley. We crossed the Schauinsland nature reserve on specially prepared and marked forest trails to the valley station of the Schauinslandbahn cable car. The route took us over hill and dale, sometimes steep, sometimes flat. The whole group had a blast.

The fastest arrived at the bottom after just 40 minutes and the slower ones after 60 minutes. According to the scooter guide, our group was actually one of the faster ones. However, the descent felt like it lasted only 5 minutes – so it was very entertaining and perfect for action lovers.

After this great experience, our CEO, Mr. Moos, was certain: we'll do it again! And so another scooter descent is already planned for our autumn party in October.
